Oluwaseun grew up on a fish farm in Badagry. His father raised tilapia in cages. Every rainy season, a mysterious fish kill would wipe out months of work — no warning, no explanation. The family would lose ₦500K in a week. His father never had credit because banks couldn't see his farm.
Chukwu was building IoT sensors for industrial clients. One weekend, he visited Oluwaseun's family farm in Lagos. He saw the same problem: farmers guessing about water quality, losing harvests, getting rejected by banks. He said, "We could build something for this."
In 3 months, they built the first sensor. Solar-powered. ₦8K cost. Monitored dissolved oxygen & temperature. They tested it on 10 farms in Ogun State. Fish mortality dropped 70%. Farmers started asking: "Can you help me get a loan?"
That's when BlueFoodOS started. Not as a tech startup. As a solution to a problem we were living. Today, 50 farmers are using our platform. 2 million more are waiting. We're just getting started.
